Workshop: DOIT - Maker Education, Entrepreneurial skills and Social Innovation

An interactive discussion group on Maker Education and how to use it to increase entrepreneurial skills in children and youth around the topic of social innovation, based on the DOIT project of which FabLab Barcelona and Waag/Fablab Amsterdam are part. DOIT is a H2020 funded project. The 11 practice partners developed and tested pilot programmes for children from 6 to 16 years old that use Maker Education for Social Innovation to promote Entrepreneurial Skills. Formats have been tested both in formal and informal education.Programmes will be shared on the DOIT platform (doit-europe.net) Fab Lab Barcelona and Waag/Fablab Amsterdam will share learnings from the pilot programmes in schools and makerspaces of the DOIT project. After that we will have an interactive discussion on how to use design thinking in Maker Education for Social Innovation. Also we would like to see what the current need in the Fab Lab network is for training materials for facilitators of Maker Education. DOIT has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programe under grant agreement No 770063
