Workshop: Projection Mapping with Raspberry Pi
During the workshop participants will learn how to set up a Raspberry Pi to be able to do projection mapping. We are going to use open source software called ofxPiMapper (or simply Pi Mapper) and projectors to augment the space around us with custom images and videos. On the first day we will cover the basics. We will cover data-driven visuals, how to make them with openFrameworks and how to map them with ofxPiMapper. Krisjanis developed ofxPiMapper as his master's thesis at the Aalto Media Lab in Helsinki, Finland. Its main purpose is to provide an affordable alternative for projection mapping projects. Later, at the Fab Academy, first prototype of an open source media player for projection mapping was developed. Its name is uMap (https://umap.io) and it could become the ultimate tool for simple projection mapping projects that fit in your pocket.
